Thousands of graduates each spring and fall start the next chapters of their lives at Georgia State’s Convocation Center, a premier event venue conveniently located in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

Bag Policy

Guests can carry only clear bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, one-gallon plastic freezer bags or clutches no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, approximately the size of a hand. Exceptions may be made for those with medical requirements or special needs.

Entry Locations

Faculty, staff and volunteers enter at Gate 1.
Friends and family attending commencement ceremonies enter Gate 2 on the corner of Capitol Avenue and Fulton Street.
Graduate check-in is at Gate 3 on the corner of Capitol Avenue and Pollard Boulevard.

Accomodations

Wheelchairs are available at the Guest Services window inside Gate 2 for guests needing assistance.
A limited menu of food and beverage items are available for purchase. No outside food or drinks may be brought into the Convocation Center; with ehe exception of an empty or sealed water bottle.
Merchandise and flowers are available for purchase inside and outside the facility.

Parking

Conveniently located close to both Interstate 20 and Interstate 75/85, the Convocation Center also offers plenty of nearby parking. We recommend purchasing your parking pass in advance through ParkMobile. Parking for the Convocation Center is available in the:

Blue Lot: 76 Fulton St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30312
(ADA parking available)
Green Lot: 640 Pollard Blvd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30312

Golf cart and bus shuttles are available in all lots to assist guests from their vehicles to the Convocation.
